With daily headlines steadily eroding our sense of stability, the fear of the “end times” lingers in our collective consciousness. Is it any consolation that this anxiety has shadowed humanity throughout history? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, the apocalypse remains ripe—if poisonous—soil for cultivating fear, and therefore horror.
